It is an experiment to try to figure out the best design for the paper air plane to stay in the air longest and it came out with the design called the LION which stayed in the air longest.
· EXPLAIN WHY IT HAPPENED?
The Lion design was able to stay in the air longest as it has the perfect balance of drag, gravity, thrust and lift. Drag is moving through the air. If we want the plane to fly as far as possible, you want to give the plane little drag (The push we give it to make it fly) Gravity is a second force that a plane need to overcome, it is needed to keep the planes weight to a minimum to help fight against gravity's pull to the ground. "Thrust" and "lift" are two other forces that help your plane make a long flight. Thrust is the forward movement of the plane. The initial thrust comes from the muscles of the "pilot" as the paper airplane is launched. After this, paper airplanes are really gliders. Lift comes when the air below the airplane wing is pushing up harder than the air above it is pushing down. It is this difference in pressure that enables the plane to fly.
· ACCURACY
This experiment can be made more accurate as it didn’t had enough time for the stop watch as the paper planes fly in the air for the short period of time. So its juts started and it had to stop. it could have been longer.
· VALIDITY
It is a valid experiment as it considers all the outmost limits of the experiment while doing the entire practical. It is valid as the procedure is been made by going the reliable sources.
· RELIABILITY
It is a reliable experiment as it repeats the same procedure similarly for ten times and then counted the average out from the results.
· HYPOTHESESIS PREDITION IN RELATION WITH RESULTS
It was predicted that the design called Dart will stay in the air longest as it has the minimum folds and it had a pointy edge and it fulfills all the requirements stated in the above points. But the Lion was the successful design managed to stay in the air longest; it beat the design dart with 0.49 seconds.
· ANY IMPROVEMENTS.
It was a really good experiment the only improvement someone would suggest would be about the designs of the paper planes as some of them were really tough because of their tricky folds. Hence overall it is a good experiment as it gives you the chance of experiment your thinking and belief’s you have for some specific topics.
